A lot of news coming from Disney today, including a few tidbits about the future of “Star Wars.”
First of all, Episode VIII is officially being released on May 26, 2017. Movie history buffs will almost recognize that day, since May 25, 1977 was the release date of “Star Wars: Episode IV.”
Another “Star Wars” detail involves those rumors surrounding a Felicity Jones stand-a-lone movie. Not only has that rumor been confirmed, but there’s now a title to go along with the project: “Rogue One.”
If I remember right, that was Wedge’s call sign, so maybe John will finally get to see that Wedge Antilles movie he’s been campaigning for. More likely however, this will be an original story about a new Rogue Squadron leader on a totally different timeline than the Skywalker saga.
Regardless, I’d love to see the “Star Wars” universe finally take a break from the Jedi.
We’ll obviously keep you posted as new info comes our way. Until then, we’ll keep watching our “Star Wars” countdown clocks… 281 days.
