TRUE STORYTON — The first trailer for the film “Masterminds” has dropped and I’d be lying if I said it didn’t have me chuckling.
The movie is based on a true story and has a great cast including Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig, Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis. “Napoleon Dynamite” helmer Jared Hess directed the film with a script from an arsenal of writers including Danny McBride.
This is actually the first time Hess has stepped behind the camera for a film he didn’t write and I’m interested to see how his direction works with a script that isn’t the same minimalistic tone of his earlier films.
“Masterminds” is due in theaters on August 7th.
