A new trailer for Nate Parker’s “Birth of a Nation” is finally making its way to the web.

I had the chance to catch this during the Sundance Film Festival (my brief overview here), and to be honest, I hope to never see it again. It’s a film paved with good intentions but often mistakes torture porn for compelling cinema.

I suspect it will generate a lot of buzz during 2016, and rightfully so, but this isn’t a case where message equals great filmmaking. At least, that’s my opinion. Maybe this trailer will change your mind:
