Don’t miss the highly anticipated theatrical release of award-winning documentary LANDFILL HARMONIC, directed by Brad Allgood and co-directed by Juliana Penaranda-Loftus coming to a theater near you this fall.
After playing over 140 film festivals and winning over 30 awards (including the Audience Award prizes at AFI FEST LA, SXSW Film Festival and Sheffield Film Festi special prize), LANDFILL HARMONIC will now be able to be seen by all. The film is a testament to the transformative power of music and the resilience of the human spirit.
LANDFILL HARMONIC follows the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura, a Paraguayan musical group that plays instruments made entirely out of garbage. When their story went viral, the orchestra was catapulted into the global spotlight. Under the guidance of idealistic music director Favio Chavez, the orchestra must navigate a strange new world of arenas and sold-out concerts. The band MEGADETH, huge fans of the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura, are also featured in the film, as they invite the orchestra to accompany their classic song “Symphony Of Destruction.” The orchestra also performed with Metallica for part of their South American tour.
